As the Project Manager for IBM Technology Expert Labs, your primary responsibility is ensuring the successful completion of client engagements. You will be involved in planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling all project phases while providing project management support and oversight to the team. Collaboration with both IBM and client stakeholders and executives is crucial to overseeing the implementation of the client’s project vision and ensuring the expected return on investment (ROI). Your role involves coaching and mentoring the project team to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project deliverables that meet the Statement of Work (SOW) requirements while minimizing risks for IBM. Your focus is on achieving outcomes and executing the overall project strategy, leveraging your technical and functional knowledge, and recommending best practices specific to Technology Expert Labs deployments.
✔Key Responsibilities:
✅Senior Point of Contact: You will serve as the senior point of contact for IBM Technology Expert Labs services projects and deployments, demonstrating a deep understanding of technology and collaborating effectively with various cross-functional, technical, solution, and product teams within IBM.
✅Project Initiation: After a successful SOW signing, you will take charge of the project initiation step, ensuring the validation of SOW from a delivery risk and outcome perspective.
✅Program Roadmap: Assisting the client in defining a program roadmap to optimize delivery value aligned with their business strategy and requirements.
✅Client Relationship Management: Working closely with the team, you will manage client needs, expectations, project issues, and product requirements, serving as a client advocate to IBM Product Management and the IBM Technology Expert Lab services leadership team.
✅Agile Project Management: You will lead and manage large, complex enterprise projects following the Agile delivery framework, using best practices, processes, tools, and techniques.
✅Steering Committee Participation: Representing IBM as required, you will actively participate in steering committee meetings.
✅Team Management: Monitoring consultant team skills and providing performance evaluations for each team member.
✅Budget Management: Planning, managing, and controlling project baseline costs to drive profitability and ensure project completion within the planned budget.
✅Change Management: Identifying opportunities for incremental revenue through negotiation in the change control process and raising project change requests.
✅Enterprise IT Solution Implementations: Providing oversight and delivery management to multiple teams working on enterprise IT solution implementations.
✅Project Governance and Best Practices: Recommending best practices for project/program and governance organization structure to ensure delivery excellence.
✅Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Proactively gaining an understanding of other programs/initiatives at the client that may impact the current project/program and engaging with them accordingly. Sharing IBM’s operational change management experience and making recommendations.
✅IBM Software Deployment: Facilitating the stabilization and successful implementation of IBM software at the client’s site.
✅Mentoring and Training: Mentoring both IBM and client team members on IBM Technology Expert Labs methodology and driving consistent processes.
✅Industry Trends and Innovations: Collaborating with IBM specialists in industry verticals to validate trends, and recommendations, and review innovative capabilities for the client.

✔Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
✅Certified in two or more industry certifications such as PMP, Prince2, CSM, SaFE, etc.
✅Exposure to Agile Delivery Practices
✅Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Jira, etc.
✅Knowledge of different types of testing, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
✅Understanding of n-tiered deployment architecture.
✅Understanding of each component of a web application.
✔Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise:
✅Understanding of cloud computing platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP), container management (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.), and DevOps processes.
✅Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse and its various components.
✅Understanding of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
